Also, the nice gals at the SUO website tell us that in our great new Stampin' Up! catalog, birds make up 20% of the stamp sets PLUS the Big Shot dies and punches we have showcasing birds as well! As I sit outside on this warm summer evening listening to the birds singing and chirping in the trees, I've decided that's not a bad thing!
The top card is made with the Scalloped Circle die.....a fun technique to make shaped cards. The stamp set I used is "For the Birds"----a great new set in our 2012-13 catalog. The image was stamped with Stazon ink and watercolored with Watercolor Pencils and Aquapainters. The Boho Blossoms punch was used to create the string of curvy flowers along the DSP edge! Fun!
The second card was made with our brand new In Colors for 2012-14 and boy do I love them! Raspberry Ripple and Primrose Petals were used for the diagonal background and to make the great bird from the Betsy's Blossoms stamp set. The new Gumball Green was used on the leaf stamp----those new foam ink pads are to die for!!! Love the great ink coverage and bright, crisp colors! Easter is almost here so I just had to include this cute card we did at our March Stamp Club! This idea was CASED from someone else, but I'm sorry to say I don't have a name.....): I changed up the fence from the original by using the new Large Rosette die in the current Occasions mini catalog. We die-cut a piece and then cut apart 7 of the "posts". Circle and oval punches make up the bunny stuck in the fence complete with a little white pompom tail!! We used a punched scallop circle, sponge and Bashful Blue ink to make perfect clouds the easy way!! A fun card for young and old alike----try making one of your own!
Don't you just love our SU! Idea Book and Catalog??? There's a reason why it is voted the best Idea Book by Creating Keepsakes readers year after year! I got the idea for this card from page 181 of the current 2011-12 IB&C. We did it at my March Stamp Club. The ladies had a ball watercoloring the flowers with reinkers and aquapainters. The hardest part was deciding what part was flower and what part was leaves!! We did all kinds of fun distressing techniques---paper tearing, sponging, & color spritzing. My challenge to you----find a project in the catalog and CASE it making it uniquely your own!
